>Amir Khusrau, the 'father of urdu literature' made hindustani famous.
Lol no. He primarily wrote in persian himself. Even Ghalib's primarily used language is persian. Writing in rekhta was considered abhorring by ghalib himself. The only time hindavi was given a status in earlier times, to even be compared was by the Suri's. Even in khusrau times, it wasnt the official langauge or anything. And all the Delhi Sultanate, including suris, rulers spoke Turkish, they were ethnic turkish. (Apart from the suris who were afghans).
>Hali further adds, “He [Ghalib] did not look upon the ability to write Urdu poetry as an accomplishment; in fact, he thought it beneath him.”
Anyways, only after mughals did it start taking shape, hindustani. And it just has different nouns which people came to know about due to administrative purposes, rest all is shauraseni prakrit.
>What are you at? I started learning awadhi because of tulsidas.
I dont see much people teaching and learning local dialects (let me use this phrase here despite all that discussion), I just thought it might be hard for you. Noone goes around teaching haryanvi or some shit y'know. Those who grew up there, they pick up on it. Rest, all only learn hindi and their mother tongue. Thats, why I was surprised you werent learning your mother tongue
